On which day and date, a regular Meeting was held within the Masonic Hall 14 Maddiston Road Brighton’s at 1930hrs.
Present were the Right Worshipful Master Bro Ian Simpson, office bearers and Brethren as per the attendance register 54 brethren signed the tyle 45 brethren from lodge Polmont 9 visitors and apologies were received from 12 brethren and there was a total of 7 visiting lodges present.
The lodge was opened in the 1st degree in due and ancient form. The RWM welcomed all into the lodge and to the brethren of lodge Polmont he offered his thanks for their continued support a warm welcome was extended to the visiting brethren from the sister lodges both within and out with the Province of Stirlingshire.
Fabric collection
The fabric collection realised the sum of £68.02 to which the RWM thanked the assembled brethren.
Correspondence
A letter was received Lodge Carron No139 accepting our invitation to confer the fellowcraft degree on the 28th of Dec 2026.
Applications
An application of affiliation received from Bro Peter Neilson of lodge Zetland No391 which was read out to the lodge.
Ballot
A ballot was prepared for Mr Craig and at the conclusion of the ballot the RWM stated that a future date would be set for his initiation.
Visitations
The WJW Bro Graham Black read out the various meeting that had been made by the brethren of the lodge since our last meeting, Thursday the 9th of April Bannockburn Bruce & Thistle No 312 to witness a 1st degree, Monday the 13th of April Stirling Royal Arch No 76 with our IPM to witness a 2nd degree, Tuesday the 14th of April lodge Blackridge No 1145 2nd degree, Thursday the 16th of April Buchannan Killearn No 1419 to witness a mark degree, Tuesday the 21st of April to witness a 1st degree, Thursday the 16th of April Bro Peter Neilson, Bro Peter Hamilton and Bro Ross McCulloch visited lodge Dolphin No 911 to witness the mark degree and on each and every occasion all the brethren were charged to convey warm and fraternal greetings to their mother lodge at their earliest return, our RWM thanked all who had taken the time to go out and visit the sister lodges and promoting lodge Polmont over the last two weeks, the RWM then asked the assembled brethren to give a hearty vote of thanks for the various visits that were made.
Mark Degree
The RWM handed the gavel to Bro Alan Curr PM in order to confer the mark degree and after a few words of encouragement Bro A Curr PM (RWMM) who then opened the lodge in the mark degree The degree work was carried out with most solemn, Precise humorous and dignified manner as practiced by the RWMM and office bearers of lodge Polmont and at the conclusion of the degree the RWMM along with our RWM were the first to congratulate Bro Steven Baxter, Bro Jordan McNee, Bro Garry Cunningham, Bro Barry McNee & Bro Stewart Easton on becoming lodge Polmont’s newest mark master masons and to introduce them to the brethren.
Bro Alan Curr (RWMM) with the degree work of the evening having come to a happy conclusion the RWMM then closed the lodge. He asked permission to say a few words of thanks, thanking the degree team for their hard work and effort put into the degree and saying it was good the see Bro Bill McLeod back on the floor, to the brethren for their silence during the degree and thanking the RWM for the opportunity of conferring the mark degree the RWMM then handed the gavel back to the RWM the RWM congratulated Bro A Curr PM for a great degree and stated that the hard work had certainly paid off he then asked the brethren to show a vote of thanks to the degree team, he then instructed the degree team to vacate office in favour of the office bearers of lodge Polmont. The collection realised the sum of £158.01 to which the RWM thanked the brethren.
To the members of Lodge Polmont he once again thanked them for their continued support and to the visitors he thanked them for their attendance and asked that they take warm and fraternal greetings from Lodge Polmont back to their mother lodges at their earliest convenience and asked the brethren of lodge Polmont give the visitors a hearty vote of thanks.
Invitation to speak
The RWM then invited anyone from the body of the lodge if they had anything to say. The WSW Bro Alan Banks on behalf of the brethren wished the RWM and his family a very well deserved rest through the summer recess and that he comes back in September fully refreshed and ready for the work ahead the RWM responded by wishing the brethren a very happy recess and that they come back in September ready to support the lodge.
PM Bro Sandy Mcintosh replied on behalf of the visiting brethren for the warmth and cordiality on entering the lodge something that has always come to be expected at lodge Polmont congratulating the RWM & RWMM Bro Alan Curr for an exceptional mark degree carried out by the RWMM and his degree team and congratulating Bro Steven Baxter, Jordan McNee, Bro Garry Cunningham, Bro Barry McNee & Bro Stewart Easton on them becoming lodge Polmont’s newest Mark Master Masons finishing off by bringing warm and fraternal greetings from all the visiting sister lodges but more in particular his own affiliate lodge, lodge St Baldred No.313.
The RWM thanked PM Sandy Macintosh for the kind words and said it was good to see him back in the lodge after a short spell of absence due to illness.
Intimations
The RWM gave the following intimation that the next regular meeting is on Wednesday the 9th of September which will be the 2nd degree.
The RWM then invited those who could stay behind to do so for some lodge hospitality and to the brethren that could not that they have a safe journey home there being no further business the RWM closed the lodge in due and ancient form.
