On which day and date, a regular Meeting was held within the Masonic Hall 14 Maddiston Road Brighton’s at 1930hrs.

Present were the Right Worshipful Master Bro Ian Simpson, office bearers and Brethren as per the attendance register 80 brethren signed the tyle 36 brethren from lodge Polmont 32 visitors and 12 from Provincial Grand Lodge of Stirlingshire headed on this occasion by the RWPGM Bro Stuart Stirling and apologies were received from 10 brethren, there was a total of 9 visiting lodges in attendance

Opening

The lodge was opened in the 1^st degree in due and ancient form. The RWM welcomed all into the lodge and to the brethren of lodge Polmont he offered his thanks for their continued support a warm welcome was extended to the visiting brethren from the sister lodges both within and out with the Province of Stirlingshire.

Almoners Report

The WSW Bro Billy Fulton PM gave a report of the brethren he had been in contact with during the recess, Bro Tam Fenwick doing well, Bro Bill Fleming, said that he is tired but doing ok, Bro John Curry PM, John has requested no visits but he can receive text’s, he is tired but on the mend Bro Danny Gallacher also gave a report on Johns health, the RWM thanked both Bro Fulton PM and Bro Gallacher for all they have done and said that the brethren are in our thoughts and prayers.

Visitations

The WSW Bro Alan Banks gave an extensive report of the visitations he with various brethren he had made over the recess. Our RWM thanked all who accompanied the WSW and other brethren on their extensive visits and promoting lodge Polmont, the RWM then asked the brethren to give a vote of thanks for the various visits that were made.

The WSW Bro A Banks also took the opportunity to thank Bro Dicky Davies from Lodge Zetland No 391 for supplying the jewels and numbers for the new Masters, WSW and WJW pedestals and Bro Allan Baxter from Lodge Carron No 139 for building them, this was commissioned by our WSW Bro Alan Banks as a mark of the high esteem he holds for his mother lodge and has gifted them to the lodge hoping that it met with the lodges approval, the RWM accepted the generous gift on behalf the Past masters and brethren of the lodge and asked the brethren to show a vote of thanks to the WSW for the generous gift.

Admittance of the Provincial Grand lodge of Stirlingshire

The RWM then passed the lodge to the second degree and instructed the bro DOC to introduce the deputation. The deputation entered the lodge to the resounding sound of the pipes and drums, the Doc introduced the RWPGM Bro Stuart Stirling who after a few exchanges of welcoming words from the RWM took his rightful place in the East along with the commissioned office bearers.

Presentations

The RWM instructed the Bro DOC to carry out his special duties and presented Bro Alex Muir PM and Bro David Easton to the RWM for some further mark of his favour with the occasion being to present both brethren with their 50-year jubilee certificates the RWM along with the RWPGM made their way to the West to congratulate both and to hand over the framed certificates, the RWPGM stated that it was indeed a great honour to be standing in front of two great men stating that Bro Alex Muir is Mr Lodge Polmont having carried out so many jobs and his dedication, support and effort to his mother lodge and freemasonry in general and hoped that he would continue to do so, Both Bro Muir PM and bro Easton were invited to say a few words with Bro Alex Muir PM reflecting on his masonic career, his absence and his return to his mother lodge with the no intentions of taking up office but as this was the nominations and elections evening and not listening to the nominations of office bearers he misheard Ure for Muir to which he said came as a shock but on further enquires realised he had misheard what was being read out.

Bro David Easton said it was very humbling to be standing in front of a full lodge to receive his certificate, with responses said the RWM instructed PM Muir to resume his station as WJW for the evening and invited Bro Easton to take a seat in the East.

2^nd Degree

The RWM instructed the deacons to retire prepare and introduce Bro Prattis in order to carry out his second or fellowcraft degree which was carried out with most solemn, Precise and dignified manner as practiced by the RWM and office bearers of lodge Polmont 793.

At the conclusion of the degree the RWM along with the RWPGM were the first to congratulate Bro Prattis on becoming lodge Polmont’s newest fellowcraft and to introduce him to the brethren, addressing the brethren and distinguished East the RWM charged the brethren ever to meet, greet and treat Bro Prattis as such but in the meantime, give him a very warm welcome among us and on returning to the East the RWM then invited Bro Prattis to take a seat in the body of the lodge. The RWM then tendered the gavel to the RWPGM and on acceptance the RWPGM congratulated the degree team for a slick, smooth and polished degree which he hoped that it impressed the brethren and Bro Prattis finishing by thanking Bro John Galloway for the musical accompaniment which enhances any degree being worked, thanking Bro Peter Anderson for the drums and Bro Greig McCulloch for the pipes on the entrance of the deputation and with these few words the RWPGM handed back the gavel to our RWM, the RWM invited the RWPGM Bro Stuart Stirling and the deputation to retire and stay behind for some lodge hospitality the RWPGM sought permission from our RWM for Bro Prattis to join the retiring deputation and with the rods once again manned they retired to the sound of the pipes and drum. The RWM then thanked the brethren in the columns for their quiet attention during the ceremonial, to the organist Bro John Galloway he thanked him for the musical accompaniment, to Bro P Anderson for playing the drum and Bro Gregg McCulloch for playing the pipes he thanked them for their exceptional talent, to the members of Lodge Polmont he once again thanked them for their continued support and to the visitors he thanked them for their attendance and asked that they take warm and fraternal greetings from Lodge Polmont back to their mother lodges at their earliest convenience and asked the brethren of lodge Polmont give the visitors a hearty vote of thanks.

the next regular meeting is on Wednesday the 23rd of September which will be a first degree. There being no further business the RWM closed the lodge in due and ancient form.
